Title: Roll of the Dice

For
chocky_mousse. Sam, I stared at the titles you gave me for about twenty minutes and this was the idea that formed. However none of your titles matched the end result so I had to retitle. Enjoy!
hpfanfic10x10 prompt: Gamble
Roll of the Dice
Some things are a risk. Some things are the biggest gamble in life – a bold move that is made which you cant take back – something that will split your life into the before and after categories.
Sometimes the risk is worth it. Sometimes its not. Sometimes the gamble pays off. Sometimes it doesn’t.
Hermione took a deep breath. She rolled the dice. All bets were off.
She sighed out loud at the first touch of Ron’s tongue to hers. She felt herself becoming lighter in his arms, his skin almost cathartic. She broke the kiss, both of them breathless as she stared into his brilliant blue eyes.
She turned in his arms. His hands settled on her waist and for a brief moment she rested her head on his shoulder, locking eyes with Harry as she did so.
She held out her hand, reaching out to him, though he was out of her grasp. He crinkled his brow at her, confused as to her intent. She stood up straight, taking a small step forward and taking his hand in hers.
Grasping Harry’s hand tight, she took a step back, pulling on his arm to bring him closer to her. He said nothing, though she could see in his eyes that he was genuinely confused. She smiled at him, leaning up and pressing her lips to his.
He seemed reluctant. She kissed him hard, forcing his mouth to open to her. It was like a switch was thrown as soon as their tongues met. Her hands on his cheeks, she took a small step, leaning against Ron’s body as she and Harry drowned in each other.
They broke their kiss. Hermione was pinned between the two men and she had never felt as safe and as at home and as turned on as she did in that one moment.
No one moved and she knew that this was it. This was the moment where she would find out if her gamble had paid off. This was the moment where their lives would be split into before and after. If only they could admit to themselves they wanted it as much as she did.
She felt the sudden need to talk, to explain her reasoning, the confess her love, to persuade them of the inevitable. But in the end, all that came out was a quiet, “Let’s just try.”
Harry and Ron looked at each other and she had the impression they were having an unspoken conversation. Then Harry turned back to her, his eyes locked on hers so intensely she couldn’t look away if her life depended on it. She felt Ron’s fingertips on her hips, his thumbs making lazy circles as Harry slowly unbuttoned her blouse.
Her breath caught in her throat as together Ron and Harry removed her top. And then Harry’s mouth was on her neck and Ron’s lips were on hers and everything was different.
Hermione’s hands found the bottom of Harry’s t-shirt and she broke her kiss with Ron to pull it over his head. She turned, feeling the body heat of Harry behind her. She undid the buttons on Ron’s shirt, her eyes meeting his as she pulled the material from his shoulders.
As she rested her palms flat to his chest, Ron’s eyes cut away from hers. Her body was even more warmly cocooned as Harry and Ron inched forward, sharing their first kiss. The touch of Harry and Ron’s bare skin against her own was nothing like she ever imagined.
Hermione grinned, her lips against Ron’s collarbone.
Some things were worth gambling for. Like love.
