the car crash that is my life...
Feb. 28th, 2011 10:54 amHey peeps. It's been forever I know. I've been trying to keep up but real life has been kicking my arse. Please, link me to anything noteworthy.
I need to rant.
Last month I mentioned how I was in a 4-car accident (well, bingle really) and how I was having issues with my insurance getting my car fixed. Well, just as soon as my car was booked in and being repaired I got a letter from a law firm. Apparantly the person who caused the accident, who crashed into me causing me to crash into the car in front of me and so on, is now claiming the accident was not her fault. She is claiming that the three of us had already crashed into each other before she crashed into me. That we were out of our cars exchanging details when she crashed into my car. This is such a bold-faced lie I can't even. There was only one impact, caused by her.
Anyway, at the time of the accident, she was all "You broke too suddenly, its your fault blah blah blah". She refused to give me her details, even after the driver in front of me and myself told her that it was the law and that she was at fault. We had crashed about a minute from the police station so the driver in front of me suggested we go to the cops and see what they said. She, shockingly enough, agreed so off we went.
The Constable wasted no time in telling her that she was at fault. That it didnt matter if we broke suddenly, that she needed to leave enough space to break. That it was the law that you need to exchange details at an accident site, and if she didnt know that then she needed to go to VicRoads for a refresher in the road rules. He told her to be grateful that we had not called the poilce out to the accident site, coz they would have fined her on the spot. She kept trying to talk over him which pissed him off no end - he kept saying how it wasnt too late to fine her. When she started crying he was all "tears dont work on me". He was so awesome I wanted to kiss him. Anyway, she finally exchanged details, so we didnt file a report or anything.
There is a lesson in this people. Never be nice. Now, we have no official poilce record and its going to be her word against mine.
She called me this morning, ranting about how it was my fault and there was no damage to her car so how could she cause all the rest of the damage and how she was going to take me to court over it. Like last time she wouldnt let me get a word in, so I just talked over her, reiterating how it was her fault, that there was only the one impact, and if there was no damage to her car doesnt mean she wasnt at fault for the accident. Then she hung up on me.
FFS, I am so over this. I really dont need this. Between work being insane, and the creature living in my roof keeping me up all night, this is seriously the final straw.
Ugh.
Seriously, the only thing keeping me going at this point is the possibility that they are finally going to go there with Dan and Blair in Gossip Girl. (There better not stuff it up after how awesome they've been of late)
